I love this book so far. I got it today and have done swatches for my colored pencils, stabilo markers, and gel pens. I love being able to have all of them in one small book that I can take with me anywhere. I only have a few "complaints." I wouldn't mind a few more boxes on each page, as there are 45 and a lot of things come in packs of 48. I added 3 more on the bottom for my pack of 48 gel pens so no big deal, it would just be nice. Another thing is it could use thicker paper, but then the book would also be thicker and maybe not as easy to carry around. I put a piece of cardstock under each page as I was working on it and that seemed to work so also not a big deal. I like that it is one sided in case some of the mediums bleed through. Overall very pleased.
OMG I have been trying to make a chart like this but never did.get it made. I am a colored pencil fool and have collected over the years way too many, all of the brands I could find. I put small peanut cans on a cake 'spinner', glued them to the 'spinner' and separated according to color. I must have at least a thousand ( I am not kidding :)) I never could find the right color and had to sort through the whole can looking for what I wanted. This is a blessing, not only can you find duplicates, see what color I want, know just how many I have and lastly to see the duplicates not exactly the same. What a Godsend! !!!!!
This little book is so cool. And there's not many like it on the market - trust me, I've looked. Will buy another in the future. Previously I have tried different methods of keeping track of color palettes and color charts of all the different things I use, and to date the most used was a smallish wire-bound notebook of Bristol paper, which I spent hours with a pencil and ruler making rows and labels ... only to end up with something that was great paper-wise but a pain in the rear to flip through. Plus I hate carrying around anything wire-bound. This solves all my problems.If you have more than 300 colored pencils, several dozen pastels, 200+ gel pens, pigment pens, brush pens, fineliners, alcohol markers, etc and you're super lazy, then this little tool is definitely for you.
I love this book! It's almost perfect for me, but nothing that would take away from the 5 stars!I use all types of coloring media, including soft & hard lead coloring pencils. All different brands and I keep them separated by type and brand which makes this book perfect. Only 2 things that would make it better. 1-if it had tabs of some sort, so I created my own with post it flags. 2-Different binding with removable pages. This would allow me to arrange my pages together for types when I get new ones. Markers, pencils, watercolor pencils, colored pencils, & gel pens.
There is not a whole lot to say about this book, but I'll try. This book is just set up for all of your color "swatches" of all of your pens, pencils, markers, etc. Just page after page of little boxes. That being said, you certainly don't have to buy a book to keep track of all of your media. I've tried all sorts of ideas, the best was a three ring binder. But if you want to take your coloring or other art projects with you, that binder is awfully large. If I just take the appropriate pages with me, I had a tendency for them to get all mussed up and even lost. Welcome Yampuff's little book. It's a smidge bigger than pocket sized, and yet you have all of ( or most of) everything you need. It is going to be the "ace in the hole" that I have been looking for. I use many different pencils, and I'm pretty sure that this little book can handle them all.
This is a great way for me to organize and catalog the gel pens I use. Also if I run out of a pen I know what I need to buy\order as I go. 1 square for the color, 1 line for the name of color, 2 line for the barcode number, 3 line where to order it. Around here there not very many places you can buy the Sakura gel Roll pens, so I order them. On a regular basis I order up to 52 at a time. All colors I run out of. And then this book is also used for my kid's mediums as well. My daughter uses watercolor pencils and my sons like regular ink pens. So we keep a records using this book.
It is convenient to use the blank charts for noting the colors of the different brands. The only thing I have a negative about is that the paper is too thin. I usually make my own charts on bristol vellum.
I love this book. My gel pens do not have a color or number on them. With this I can color samples for each pen in the order I have them in my case. Now I can just look here and see the true color I am looking for and then go to my case and get it. I put a G, F, M, P etc. on each pen with a sharpie and that helped also. I am also adding my pencils so I can see the color on paper, and especially my markers that drive me crazy because the ink color does NOT match the pen top. Not only would I buy it again, I highly recommend it.Well apparently I was distracted by something shiny and didn't submit my review. So while I have the chance to add something, let me say that this has worked awesomely for finding the colors I want easily! I see a flower I envision how I want it to look and I flip through here and find the perfect color in different mediums and realize why yes glitter would look great or instead of glitter this metallic is even better for this. I am sooo glad I bought this book.
